CMS to Monitor Drivetrain - 24 Sep

GBX-4

Join your wind turbine owner peers to discuss possibilities of CMS in wind farm operations. Register at the buttom of the page.

SKF will introduce the topic and there after one of our members from Borusan Enerji will describe what they want to achieve within CMS.

Strange Skriver, Chief Executive Officer at Nordic Wind Consultants will moderate the webinar.

First session: Introduction of CMS in wind

Fabrice will give an introduction on CMS and he is also aware that this crowd is rather advanced in this topic. Mainly he will adjust the the level of the introduction, based on the challenges shared when registering to the webinar.

  • Why CMS ?
  • Hardware overview
  • Software overview
  • Wind Monitoring Standards
  • Field examples

CMS value today is : repair up "tower" + convert unplanned into planned Maintenance. Next step is to consolidate the right Data's in order to move to a better prediction + smart Data access + supply chain view. The introduction will be wrapped up with a discussion on possible conclusion for next step after "CMS" in which Fabrice will present the so called "Reliability Dashboard"

Fabrice Drommi, Digitalization & After Market, Energy Industry at SKF

Second session: Your peer looking for input on Key Performance Indicators for Condition Monitoring Systems in Wind Turbines

I am doing a research about Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS) as a part of my annual targets. I have been looking for key performance indicators of CMS in wind turbines (especially for drivetrain) and I have found the below up to now:

  • CMS Coverage Ratio: Number of assets in CMS program / Number of all candidate items for CMS program
  • Condition-based maintenance ratio: CMS-based maintenance man-hours / Total maintenance man-hours
  • Condition-based maintenance detection ratio: Number of faults detected by CMS system before any damage happen / Total number of faults results in a damage
  • Condition-based maintenance diagnosis accuracy: Number of false detections (false flags) coming from CMS system / Number of total detections coming from CMS system

What do you think about these KPIs and do you have any other KPIs that you track to evaluate the performance of your Condition Monitoring Systems?
